US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders held a rally in Detroit on Friday, ahead of Michigan’s primary election.
US Representative Rashida Tlaib was present at the event and introduced Sanders on stage.
“It is hard to defeat Trump when Joe Biden has a super PAC [Political action committee] funded by the very wealthy,” said Sanders once he took to the podium.
“You’re not going to stand up for the working class and the middle class when you are dependent upon contributions from the wealthiest people,” he added.
The US Senator later touched on various issues like gun legislation, inflated prices for prescription drugs like insulin and women’s right over their bodies.
“I am proud to tell you that I am 100 percent pro-choice,” he assured. The Michigan primary elections are set to take place on March 10.
