Mancunians demonstrated against the state visit of US President Donald Trump on Monday.
The crowd listened to speeches and music from a stage in the city’s Cathedral Gardens. Protesters brought a range of homemade placards, many carrying tongue-in-cheek criticisms of the president.
Trump later attended a formal state banquet at the Buckingham Palace hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
Trump’s three-day visit will also see him taking part in celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Portsmouth on Wednesday.
