Palestine: US Should Leave Middle East in Peace, Not in Chaos – Palestinian PM

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh commented on the terms of the US withdrawal from the Middle East as well as on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the interview with RT filmed in Ramallah and aired on Monday.

Shtayyeh said that: “[The] American President is very unpredictable. He says one thing, he does the other, and he keeps changing his mind. We hope that if the United States is really leaving the scene, it should leave the area in [peace], not in chaos.”

He expressed his hopes that the US President will be decisive in terms of granting “freedom” to Palestinians, helping them to live out of “occupation.”

Talking about US President Donald Trump’s “deal of the century” that reportedly aims at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Shtayyeh said that the whole project didn’t seem serious, stressing that key Palestinian demands such as the two-state solution as well as the removal of the Jewish settlements were not mentioned in the deal.
