Palestinian youth and Israeli security forces clashed in Bethlehem on Wednesday.
Stone throwers targeted Israeli defensive positions amid burning tires. Troops and police responded by firing tear gas and charging protesters. One protester was bundled into a vehicle, while another was stopped on a street corner.
The protest was called after US President Donald Trump presented his peace plan for the Middle East on Tuesday. Flanked by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin, the president described the deal as “realistic”.
The fabled ‘deal of the century’ was rejected outright by Palestinian leaders.
