Palestine: At Least 8 Dead, 12 Injured As Airstrike Levels Building

At least eight people were reportedly killed and 12 were injured after an airstrike levelled an apartment building in Deir al-Balah city, Gaza Strip, on Thursday.

The victims were taken to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. Children could be seen lying in bed covered in bandages, and bodies were piling up at the hospital morgue.

According to the General Supervisor in the Emergency Department, Nabil Saleh, the bodies arrived in pieces.

The explosion opened two craters where the building was located and in its surroundings. Footage shows the remains of the building after the explosions and two craters filled with rubble.

According to officials in Gaza, more than 50 air raids and 21 artillery attacks have targeted various areas in the Gaza Strip, including homes, agricultural lands and farms.

A total of 48 houses were reportedly destroyed in the airstrikes. Reports indicate that the death toll reached 32.

Tensions have escalated in the Gaza Strip and Israel after Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) commander Bahaa Abu al-Ata was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday, with forces in Gaza subsequently launching rockets into Israel.
