Racist Trump Calls COVID-19 ‘Kung Flu’ and ‘Chinese Virus’ at Tulsa Rally

US President Donald Trump heavily praised his own performance throughout the coronavirus crisis and took aim at China during his MAGA rally speech in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday night, his first campaign rally since the coronavirus outbreak began.

“By the way it’s a disease, without question, that has more names than any disease in history. I can name ‘Kung flu’. I can name 19 different versions of names,” stated Trump.

Trump used the occasion to publicly attack many of his rivals as well as to praise his own performance despite the US being the worst-hit country worldwide by the crisis with over 2.3 million cases and almost 122,000 deaths related to the virus.

“Despite the fact that we, I, have done a phenomenal job with it, I shut down the United States to very heavily infected, but all people from China in late January, which is months earlier than other people would have done it, if they would have done it at all. I saved hundreds of thousands of lives. We don’t ever get even a mention,” said Trump.

The US president also revealed he had asked members of his organisation to slow down testing in order that the number of total cases would look more favourable.

“Here’s the bad part, when you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people. You’re going to find more cases. So I said to my people, slow the testing down, please,” revealed Trump.

The rally was held in front of a much smaller crowd than the president was expecting. The Trump campaign team had been boasting that almost one million people had applied for tickets for the MAGA rally. However, the 19,000-seat arena was nowhere near full amid concerns about public mass gatherings in an indoor arena due to the pandemic.
