Mass Graves Dug on New York Island Amid COVID-19 Epidemic

Drone footage captured on April 2 shows workers, seemingly prison inmates, digging mass graves and piling coffins amid the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in New York’s Hart Island.

The island has been home to graveyards for unclaimed New Yorkers without family to identify them for many years, according to other reports.

However, the state’s COVID-19 outbreak is the worst in the United States, taking over 5,000 lives since infections began being tallied in March.
