Rapper M.I.A advocated for leniency for Julian Assange after she had attended a session of the extradition trial of the WikiLeaks co-founder at Old Bailey Central Criminal Court in London on Monday.
“I feel like everyone has suffered enough. Julian has suffered enough, the people have suffered enough,” she said to the media outside the court office.
The British singer whose real name is Mathangi Arulpragasam has been a long-standing supporter of Julian Assange. In 2019 she performed outside the UK Government’s Home Office in protest of the possible extradition of the WikiLeaks co-founder to the United States.
