Jordan: Thousands Protest Against Trump's 'Deal of the Century' in Amman

Thousands of Jordanians rallied in Amman on Friday to protest against US President Donald Trump’s proposed ‘deal of the century’.

Footage shows demonstrators chanting slogans in support of the Palestinian cause and waving flags.

“This protest is a Jordanian howl that comes from all the segments of the Jordanian people to deliver a message of anger to the American President and his Zionist ally [Netanyahu],” said Abdul Majeed Dhunaibat, the General Observer of the Muslim Brotherhood.

He added: “We are telling them that Jordan is not a big country but it is powerful because of its people, they will not allow Jordan to be a replacement country to others [Palestinians], Jordan is not for sale, and Palestine is not for bargaining.”

On Tuesday, Trump unveiled his fabled ‘deal of the century’, a set of proposals to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Washington DC.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas rejected the plan with “a thousand no’s,” as being one-sided in favour of Israel.
