Italy: Protesters Greet Last Stop of Salvini Electoral Campaign

Protesters greeted Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini in the town of Castel San Giovanni, near Piacenza, on Friday, as he ended his electoral campaign for the League party in the European parliamentary elections.

Protesters chanted “Salvini go away, we are all clandestine” and held signs denouncing some of the policies heralded by the League leader.
On his part, Salvini said protesters were “alone and sad.”

Protests have followed Salvini everywhere as he toured the country campaigning for the League in the European parliamentary elections.
