Ecuador: Protesters Denounce Budget Cuts and Layoffs in Quito Demo

Protesters, including students and university workers, held a demonstration in Quito, Wednesday, denouncing budget cuts and economic crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic in Ecuador.

Police could be seen trying to disperse the protesters, advancing at them, with protesters responding with throwing projectiles such as road cones at police officers.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, Ecuador has registered 51,643 cases of the coronavirus with 4,274 deaths related to it.
