Black Lives Matter protesters set the US flag alight as they hit the streets of Portland for another demonstration against police violence and state oppression on Saturday night.
Protesters marched with drums, while chanting anti-racist slogans and criticising Mayor Ted Wheeler.
The protesters later gathered outside the Portland police department’s Central Precinct police station where they were confronted by heavily armed police.
Protests against police brutality and racism have been taking place in the city and across the US since late May, following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of a police officer.
The long-running demonstrations had resumed on Friday, after being paused since September 9 amid poor air quality due wildfires in neighbouring Oregon.
