Bernie Sanders has been labelled as both “a danger to Jews” and as somebody who wants to grant the vote to “terrorists” in comments that echo similar rhetoric from opponents to British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Speaking last week, the Democratic frontrunner Bernie Sanders, himself Jewish, labelled the Netanyahu government as “right-wing” and “racist” as he publically rebuked the regime and lamented the “unfair” treatment of the Palestinian people.

The comments have not gone unnoticed, with former New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, himself a Democrat, labelling Sanders as “a danger to Jews”.
“First, after Israel reelected the formidable Benjamin Netanyahu, instead of accepting the will of the Israeli people all Bernie could do was lament the win by calling the new government ‘racist,’ signaling his unwillingness to work with Netanyahu should he ever become president.

Then, as if that weren’t ridiculous enough, in a town hall, Sanders promoted the idea that murderers and terrorists like the Tsarnaev brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon, killing four and injuring scores more, should be able to vote from prison! If that isn’t absurd then it shows you how far Left the Democrats have gone. Either way it should concern every American and Jew that there’s a candidate seeking votes among those who’ve taken innocent lives. As long as the Democrats are silent on the antisemitism of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib while calling Israel “racist” and getting cozy with murderers, Jewish Democrats have no choice but to take a vacation from the party in 2020.”
The comments have parallels to the vitriol thrown at critics of Israel in the United Kingdom, in particular, false accusations of antisemitism and terrorist sympathies thrown at Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn as part of a vicious campaign of slander and disinformation. The campaign, led by pro-Israeli groups and supported by Corbyn critics in parliament and the media, is believed to be endorsed and supported by the Netanyahu government itself with al Jazeera exposing Israeli interference in the British political process in their landmark The Lobby documentary series.
A second series of The Lobby focused on the Israeli lobby’s influence on United States politics.
Sanders, who is currently boasting an impressive lead over Joe Biden in many polls and is tipped to be the Democratic nominee for President, had said that the United States should reconsider its military aid budget to Israel and that the U.S. should be treating the Middle East equally.
“The United States gives billions of dollars in military aid to Israel. I just believe that the US should deal with the Middle East on a level-playing-field basis. In other words, the goal must be to try to bring people together and not just support one country, which is now run by a right-wing and, dare I say, racist government.”
