Protesters were seen chanting, dancing and lighting up flares in Paris on Tuesday, as people opposed French President Emmanuel Macron government’s plans to reform the pensions system.
“I would like to change the system, I would like to work less, [to have] social security, change the school, make an anti-capitalist world,” said Jenny, one of the protesters.
The government is reportedly aiming to introduce a universal pension system, but trade unions say that this will result in millions of private-sector workers having to work beyond the legal retirement age.
