The final match of the football league of Palestinian amputees organised by the Palestinian Amputee Football Association (PAFA) was held in Gaza on Tuesday, with the footballers showing that no disability can stop them from enjoying their favourite sport.
The squads were greeted by the audience, which also included disabled people.
“In the upcoming period, we hope to go abroad and play international matches where we can deliver the message of the Palestinian people. Even of the siege, pain, misery, amputation and handicap, we will continue to deliver our message to the world that this handicap will not make us incapable of playing football,” said footballer Hatem Balousha.
The PAFA now unites 80 male players with reported plans to form a women’s league too.
