Around 800 anti-fascists marched through Madrid streets, paying tribute to 16-year-old Carlos Palomino who had been stabbed by a neo-Nazi soldier 12 years ago.
Protesters lit flares, marched with banners depicting Palomino and chanted slogans, expressing concerns about “the rise of fascism in institutions.” People were also seen placing flowers at Legazpi Station, where the murder had happened.
Palomino was killed on November 11 in 2007 at Legazpi Station by Josue Estebanez de la Hija who had reportedly been on his way to a far-right rally when he saw Palomino and his fellow Antifa members. Josue Estebanez de la Hija was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.
