Around 5,000 of supporters of Scottish independence marched through the streets of Galashiels on Saturday.
People held various flags including those of Scotland and Spanish Catalan republic with bagpipers leading the march.
“I believe we’re a strong nation, have everything we need and we have a right to make our own decisions. It’s as simple as that really. Nothing complicated about it. And I don’t really understand all the objection to it,” said Mike, one of the protesters.
Pro-union supporters also held a demonstration being separated from the pro-independence march by a fence.
