Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Francisco opened drive-through facilities to test people for coronavirus as footage shot on Friday shows.
The drive-through aimed to test those people who think might be infected is currently being offered in different locations in the area and across seven US states. The goal of this measure is to prevent the spread of the virus by minimizing the patient’s exposure to other people.
As part of a new partnership with the private sector to tackle coronavirus, US retailers will work with the government to assist with drive-through coronavirus testing.
The emergency executive action was announced by US President Donald Trump on Friday as he declared the coronavirus outbreak a national emergency.
Over 2,100 people have been infected in the US and 47 have died from the illness, bringing the total number of confirmed cases worldwide to 145,369 since the outbreak in January 2020.
