The United States has sent an aircraft carrier and a bomber task force to the Middle East, the intelligence behind the move coming from Israel and Mossad.
Officially sent to “warn Iran”, National Security Adviser John Bolton said that the move to deploy the aircraft carrier and bomber task force was “in response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings” and that the move was a response to reports of a possible attack on U.S. forces in the region.
Later on Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo supported Bolton’s position and stated it was “absolutely the case” that America had seen “escalatory actions” from the Iranians and that “it is equally the case that we will hold the Iranians accountable for attacks on American interests”.
However, the intelligence behind John Bolton’s claims comes not from U.S. sources, but from Israel and Mossad.
Revealed by Barak Ravid of Israel’s Channel 13 news, the alleged intelligence was discussed two weeks ago in talks at the White House between Bolton and his Israeli counterpart Meir Ben Shabbat and concerned claims of plots against the U.S. or Gulf allies such as Saudi Arabia and the United Emirates.
With frightening echoes of Iraq’s “dodgy dossier”, the claims that Iran would attack the nuclear-armed United States seem to be beyond the realms of reality and conveniently supports Benjamin Netanyahu’s years-long posturing for war with Iran.
“It is still unclear to us what the Iranians are trying to do and how they are planning to do it, but it is clear to us that the Iranian temperature is on the rise as a result of the growing U.S. pressure campaign against them, and they are considering retaliating against U.S. interests in the Gulf.”Israeli Official
The astonishing claims come as the U.S. continues to ramp up tensions with Iran, having declared the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organisation in April, attempted to implicate the country in ongoing tensions with Venezuela and announced that the U.S. will no longer renew exemptions given to eight countries which enable them to purchase Iranian oil without facing sanctions from the Washington regime.
Iran has publicly accused Israel and Saudi Arabia of pushing and manipulating the United States into a war with Iran, saying that neo-conservative hawks in the U.S. administration are pushing hard for war alongside the Israeli lobby, Saudi Arabia and Netanyahu government. Just over a week ago, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif pointed the finger directly at White House National Security Advisor John Bolton, saying that Bolton and international allies “have all shown an interest in dragging the United States into a conflict”.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has called for Middle Eastern unity in the face of the continuing aggression of the United States and Israel, stating that the two nations were the cause of war and tensions in the region. Speaking at the Army Day parade last month, Rouhani stated that “if we have a problem in the region today, its roots are either with Zionism or America’s arrogance.”
Offering an olive branch to other nations in the Middle East, Rouhani stated that Iran was not working against their “national interests” but rather was working in their shared mutual interests “against the aggressors”.
“Let us stand together, be together and rid the region of the aggressor’s presence.”Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President
