Zookeepers at the London Zoo set up a sign of appreciation for NHS workers in its Giraffe House, as seen in footage from Thursday. The zoo authorities explained it as a symbolic gesture, likening the medics to the giraffes, who are “head and shoulders above the rest.”
Footage shows the giraffes Maggie and Molly eating, next to the NHS sign with hearts on it.
The sign was illuminated on Thursday evening during the weekly clap for health workers and was visible from Regent’s Park.
