Religious Hymns Lift Spirits of COVID-Stricken Palestinians in Hebron As Ramadan Begins

On the occasion of Ramadan, the Thebes religious hymns band brought its songs to the streets of the coronavirus-hit city of Hebron in a bid to improve the morale of the residents.

Footage filmed on Wednesday shows the members of the band walking in the city’s streets, chanting prophetic praises and playing the drums to the residents, who seemed to be enjoying the beats. Neither the members of the band nor the residents were seen minding a distance or wearing personal protection equipment.

“We wanted the reception of the holy month of Ramadan to be different this year from all previous years due to the emergency that the country is going through,” said a member of the band named Muhannad Nazmi Misk, who added that “there is an excellent and wonderful interaction from the people, and we saw the smile in their eyes and the happiness on their faces because of the work we did today.”

The Ministry of Health has reported 336 confirmed coronavirus cases and 2 deaths.
