Protesters March in Washington DC Against Police Brutality

Anti-racism protesters marched in Washington DC on Thursday to decry police brutality and racial discrimination.

The protesters from several anti-racism groups, including the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, gathered in front of the White House where they waved banners and chanted anti-racism slogans before they held a nine-minute silence in tribute to George Floyd next to Lafayette Park.

The protesters then continued to march through the streets as they waved ‘Black Lives Matter’ banners and called for the defunding of the police.

Several anti-racism demonstrations have been taking place across the world following the killing of 46-year-old black man George Floyd at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis on May 25.
