Police were seen using what appears to be tear gas and pepper spray at a Black Lives Matter protest in Portland early on Friday.
Portland Police reportedly declared a riot late on Thursday, after fires were set inside and surrounding the Justice Center on Southwest Main Street.
At around 23:00 local time (06:00 GMT) protesters reportedly broke into the Justice Center. Federal officers inside the courthouse rushed outside to protect the building, according to reports citing police.
Several protesters were reportedly arrested. Anti-racism protests have swept the world following the death of 46-year-old George Floyd at the hands of police in the US on May 25.
