Demonstrators took to the streets of Ramallah on Tuesday to protest the ‘peace plan’ announced by US President Donald Trump.
Footage shows protesters chanting slogans and burning pictures of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“It is the expression of a collective stance and represents all the people of Palestine inside and outside the country, who today express their absolute and categorical rejection of this disastrous deal of the century,” said Kaddoura Fares, the president of the Palestinian Prisoners Association.
Trump detailed his plans for his ‘deal of the century’, a set of proposals to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in a joint statement with Netanyahu in Washington DC on Tuesday.
Under the plan put forth, “Jerusalem will remain Israel’s undivided capital”.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has rejected the plan with “a thousand no’s,” as being one-sided in favour of Israel.
