US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders rallied with his supporters in Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday, one day ahead of the state’s primary.
Sanders commented on the education system in the country, vowing to fight for teachers to receive “at least $60,000 a year in salary”. He also said tuition-free public colleges and universities were his goal.
On the healthcare, Sanders it was “truly an embarrassment that the United States of America is the only major country on Earth not the guarantee healthcare to all people as a human right,” adding that his administration would end “international embarrassment.”
The South Carolina primary, the fourth nominating contest in the Democratic Party’s presidential primaries for the 2020 election, is set to take place on February 29.
