Germany: Hundreds Gather for Palestinian Solidarity Rally at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered in front of Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate on Wednesday evening in what organisers had dubbed a solidarity rally. Two rappers known for their anti-Israel stances were banned from performing.

Footage shows pro-Palestinian demonstrators singing, dancing and waving flags near the Brandenburg Gate, which is located just minutes away from the US embassy.

Both the Israeli and US ambassadors to Germany opposed the planned performance of Palestinian rappers Shadi Al-Bourini and Shadi Al-Najjar, accused of holding extreme positions against Israel and of using anti-Semitic symbolism. Berlin’s Senate Department for Home Affairs and Sport announced 30 minutes before the rally that the duo would be banned from performing.
