Flags Flown at Half-Mast in Lebanon at Presidential Palace to Mourn Blast Victims

The Lebanese authorities dipped the flags across the country to mourn the victims of the deadly blast that killed at least 100 people and left more than 4,000 injured.

The flags at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, overlooking Beirut, can be seen flying at half-mast in a sign of deference of all those who lost their lives and loved ones in the disaster.

The powerful explosion is thought to have been caused by thousands of tonnes of highly explosive ammonium nitrate being insecurely stored in a Beirut port warehouse, Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab said, though an investigation is ongoing.
