New Yorkers React to Kanye West’s Presidential Run Announcement

New Yorkers at the beach in Coney Island reacted to US rapper Kanye West’s announcement on social media that he is running for president, on Sunday.

A local, Michael Sullivan, called the news “crazy.” “I mean this country is already screwed to begin with, add that to the basket and we are completely lost,” he added.

Another local, Adir Behan said on the other hand that it was a “great idea,” adding that, “it is time for America to get rid of Trump right now, because we are tired of him.”

Kanye West announced his presidential run on his Twitter account on Sunday, by writing “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States.”

It is not the first time Kanye has claimed to be running for president. However, reports indicate that his name has not been registered with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for November’s election.
